DOVES CAN'T FLY WITHOUT WINGS #15
DOVES CAN’T FLY WITHOUT WINGS #15 is a reflection upon my school social experience. Drawing on ideas regarding the human form and it’s relationship between clothing and space, this collection philosophically explores my struggle ‘to belong’ as an adolescent.
In keeping with my values, I have continued to develop my sustainable practice within the making process. Ideas of reutilisation and longevity are placed alongside metaphorical layers to embody my core design principles of self expression and sustainability.
Awarded the range research and design award, sponsored by New Zealand textile company Hawes and Freer, and the conceptual resolution and sustainable practices award, sponsored by New Zealand textile company Sentosa.
